We Sail on October 10

Royal Princess:  Maiden voyage June 13, 2013;
maiden Atlantic crossing October 10, 2013

We created this blog so you can follow the progress of our upcoming 18-day cruise from Venice, Italy to Fort Lauderdale, FL.  After leaving Venice October 10 on the maiden crossing of the new Princess Cruises ship,
Royal Princess, we will visit Messina, Naples, Rome, Cannes, Barcelona, and Funchal in the Madeira Islands.  After sailing from Funchal we are at sea seven days before arriving in Fort Lauderdale.

Many people have asked what there is to do for seven days at sea and isn't it boring.  No, based on our past experience.  While we will report on the ports we visit along the way, we will especially focus on the activities offered - and what we do - with all that time at sea.  We have also been asked us to report on what an obstructed view balcony stateroom, the cabin type in which we are booked, is like on Royal Princess.  We couldn't find any photos of this type of cabin posted anywhere so we may be among the first to do that.
